School dropouts, unemployment, and crime are trends that lead to predictable outcomes. Children who can't read end up in jail. Children who are raised by daycare workers rather than parents end up in jail. Children who get suspended from school end up in jail. Children whose parents don't have money for good legal representation end up in jail. Many industries get paid when parents' relationships fall apart and no one is there to guide the children into a healthy adulthood.
