Its no secret there is a HUGE problem with p*rn bloggers and the problematic ways some fat admirers have infiltrated fat positive/fat acceptance spaces. They co-opt images used explicitely for self love, building confidence, and embracing our bodies - even the most innocuous of them - and catalog them to jack it too. Some leave gross, graphic sexually explicit commentary about what they want to do to our bodies. Some do all this while ignoring disclaimers we have felt forced to tack on to these posts. Fatshion Bloggers, Fat Activist Bloggers, or just your everyday fat babe trying to embrace her babeliness are being sexualized and objectified without their consent and when we respond we are vilified, harassed, mocked, and chastised for putting our pictures out there in the first place. Then we have fat admirers and bbw lovers alike who seem to think their boners have a place in our spaces. And that further prevents some of us from feeling comfortable and safe in a space that was created for the purpose of feeling comfortable and safe enough to embrace ourselves. Its about time we have a cohesive discussion breaking down these problematic patterns that have been growing excessively more prominent in these spaces. Caitlin, my fat babe life partner in crime, will be co-hosting. We will discuss our thoughts and then allow callers to share their stories and ask questions! Stay tuned!
